Organic Excellence began
as a small, home based business in 1999. Cynthia Drasler was the original owner
of Organic Excellence, but since 2009, they have a new face behind the company,
Elizabeth Allard.
Because Organic Excellence mint shampoo,
conditioner and hair spray are made from all natural ingredients, they are safe
for the environment and the waste water system. They contain no detergents such
as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), olefin sulfonate, propylene glycol, mureth
sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate (ALS) or derivatives of lauryl alcohol. These
ingredients corrode the hair follicles, irritate the oil glands, dry out the
scalp and cause premature hair loss. No animal Testing. Made in the USA. Items
include shampoo, conditioner and hair spray, skin creams. Organic
Excellence products do not contain genetically
modified ingredients, and are never tested on animals.

Vitamin C is the most abundant
anti-oxidant found naturally in the skin and is a critical component for
simulating the production of collagen, which is an essential protein necessary
for strong, healthy skin. The collagen protein is a kind of biological mortar
located in the skin's second layer that forms the foundation for the underlying
skin and keeps it firmer and appearing younger. Collagen production decreases
with age, and when the level of collagen drops low enough, the underlying
structure of the skin weakens, becomes less firm, and allows skin sagging and
wrinkling to develop. It is difficult to get a high enough volume of vitamin C
in the skin to start the production of the collagen protein through diet alone.
Experts say that no research has shown that taking oral vitamin C supplements
affects the aging process of the skin in any way. For the maximum amount of skin
repair and protection, many studies have shown that vitamin C needs to be
topically applied and absorbed into the skin. Vitamin C cream can reverse the
signs of photo-aging, (one of the processes that cause a decrease in the
production of collagen) causing skin to wrinkle. Vitamin C is a water soluble
vitamin, meaning that it is not stored in the body. The body will naturally
eliminate any amount of vitamin C that it doesn't use.

Face and Body Cleanser is a soap substitute with no
alcohol, synthetic thickeners, detergents, or solvents.
It won't leave a residue on our skin or in the shower.
Natural humectants balance oil and add moisture to
relieve dry, itchy skin. Walnut husk, a natural skin
scrub and cleanser, gently exfoliates dead skin cells
and acts as a natural antiseptic. Tingly spearmint oil
is refreshing and soothing.

The
natural ingredients in OE- Chemical Free Mint Shampoo
restore health to your scalp and hair follicles by
avoiding harsh detergents like laurel alcohol (Sodium
Laurel Sulfate or Ammonium Laurel Sulfate or Sodium
Laureth Sulfate or Laramide DEA etc…), Olefin sulfinate,
mureth sulfate, artificial fragrances, artificial
colors, and propylene glycol. The conditioner uses
natural plants that help detangle and soften the hair,
protecting it's fragile layers. Styling hair doesn't
mean using liquid plastic like PVP. Sensitive skin can
stop worrying as this product is gentle enough to use
everyday without heavy build up.

Mint Conditioner
Organic
Excellence Chemical Free Mint Conditioner does not coat
individual hair strands nor does it create a greasy feel
or flat look. Our Conditioner benefits every type of
hair from dry to oily because its natural ingredients
moisturize and treat the scalp without coating the hair!
Most conditioners are
specially manufactured with a negative pH which, in
turn, produces a positive electrical charge. When that
comes in contact with the negative charge that naturally
exists on human hair, an electrical bond is formed that
coats each hair. Eventually, that coating becomes too
thick that your hair becomes weighted down and appears
lifeless. At that point most of us require clarifying,
deep cleansing shampoos to remove the build up.
Unfortunately, further damage to the hair and scalp are
caused by the added harshness of clarifying shampoos
which have an even higher concentration of alcohol and
detergents.

Yet, it’s true that an
increasing number of studies are linking pesticides and other synthetic
chemicals in everyday products to an increase risk for all kinds of diseases
from cancer to birth defects. Because our bodies have no ability to metabolize
these synthetic chemicals, they slowly build up in the tissues of our bodies
until they overwhelm our immune system and we get sick. Since the 1940’s over
80,000 synthetic chemicals have been invented. Most of them have been created
from petroleum or coal tar, and few of them have been tested for human safety.
But, they have been added to our food, personal care and cleaning products
anyway.
According to the National Research Council, “No toxicity information is
available for over 80% of the chemicals in everyday use products. Less than 20%
have ever been tested for acute toxic effects and less than 10% have been tested
for chronic, reproductive or mutagenic effects.” The few that have been tested
have not been tested in combination with other chemicals. When the cumulative
effect of combinations of chemicals stored in the body is studied, a dangerous
synergy is seen.

For the last 20 years, I have been involved in the healing arts and
holistic health, specializing in women's wellness, nutrition, medicinal
herbs, biochemical needs, and skin care. Educating others on the
benefits of healthy living quickly became a passion and purpose that
ultimately led me to Organic Excellence and the superb products we
offer.
Drawn to natural health, I pursued a degree in nutritional healing
modalities with the renowned Chiropractor and Naturopathic Physician,
Dr. Bernard Jensen. This, along with my personal experiences as a body
builder, runner, and triathlon competitor, taught me that what we put in
and on our bodies has an immediate and far-reaching impact on our
mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
After receiving a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the Northwest
Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 1999, I studied energy
work in Thailand, where I became a certified Meditation Teacher. Upon
returning to the United States, I opened a private Acupuncture practice
in Washington, interweaving my training in herbal medicine, energy work,
nutrition, women's health, and anti-aging strategies.
Gerry Allard, my husband and partner in Organic Excellence, is also
involved in the healing arts, studying in both the USA and Brazil. As a
Certified Advanced Rolfer with a thriving 15-year practice, Gerry shares
my commitment to inspire others to reach their full wellness potential
through education, awareness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
