INGREDIENTS FOUND IN YOUR KITCHEN
WHAT COULD I USE TO HYDRATE MY
SKIN AND HAIR?
Try using a fresh avocado. They are perfect
as they contain skin-nourishing vitamin E and phytosterols which are similar to
our own skin's lipids. They provide a barrier to environmental elements
and lock in moisture. Avocado is rich and buttery in texture so you'll
feel pampered! Use can blend 2 TBSP of avocado with 1 TBSP of banana, along with
a egg yolk for a wonderful moisturizing mask. For hair, mash an avocado
into a paste and spread it into clean, damp hair for about 20 minutes.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN THE WAY OF PRODUCTS WITH AVOCADO IN
IT?
Martina Gebhardt has a wonderful eye cream rich
in avocado called, Avocado Eye Cream. This cream can also be used for the
throat. We offer it under our skincare pages from the main home page.
I HAVE HEARD THAT COCOA IS HIGH IN ANTIOXIDANTS. CAN IT BE USED ON THE SKIN
BESIDES EATING IT?
Yes. The bean promotes healthy skin.
Preliminary research has shown that topically applied cocoa reduces skin
irritation and combats cellular damage, while eating it, contrary to popular
belief, may even improve the skin's appearance (Journal of Nutrition, 2006, vol.
136, no.5). You can blend cocoa powder with a little buttermilk (which is
an excellent source of lactic acid to soften skin) to create a wonderful
soothing mask. Buttermilk apparently stimulates cocoa's antioxidant
function!
WHAT DOES NATURAL SOLUTIONS OFFER WITH COCOA?
Devita offers a cocoa mask that can be used on
the face or entire body. You can find it in our skincare section under
masks and scrubs. Its blended with other emollient ingredients for a
wonderful spa experience at home!
