Enjoy healthy, glossy hair colored to a fresh and lively shade using LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors. Whether you want only to add depth or a subtle nuance to your existing color, or to change your hair color altogether, LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors can do the job. And do it without attacking the natural structure or native color of your hair!
Chemical hair colors aggressively remove natural pigments from the interior of the hair shaft, and replace them with synthetic dyes. In this way, your initial hair color can be completely changed. However, since natural hair pigments have a stabilizing effect on overall hair structure, repeated chemical color treatments can make hair fragile and lifeless.
LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors penetrate only into the outer, scaly layer of the hair shaft, giving a coating of color over this outer layer. The natural pigments of your hair shine through this color layer. Your new hair color results from the combination of your initial color with the applied hair color layer.
The botanical ingredients strengthen the hair and give it naturally enhanced volume. The extra shine results from the smoothing effect the hair color layer has on the outer layer of the hair shaft. This increases the light reflected off the hair, which produces the typical glossiness and shine of hair colored with a LOGONA Herbal Hair Color.
LOGONA Herbal Hair Colors contain only 100% natural coloring and conditioning ingredients. The colorants used include certified organically grown henna, cassia, walnut, buckthorn, indigo, hibiscus, rhubarb, rhatany, coffee, curcuma, and beetroot. We grind these ingredients to a very fine consistency, and then mix in powdered wheat protein and jojoba for added conditioning benefits. We also add a bit of algin to improve the texture of the color mixture, and some essential oils to improve the fragrance.
A LOGONA Herbal Hair Color combines with your individual hair color and hair structure to produce an individual color result not completely predict-able. Fine or very light hair typically binds the hair color quicker and more intensively than thicker or darker hair. Consult with your hair stylist if you have questions about categorizing your hair struc-ture and color.
How do they work? They color your hair in a gentle, yet long-lasting way. Unlike chemical methods, they do not penetrate the hair shaft, but coat the outside of each hair shaft with a protective, volumising layer. The color layer reflects light, making your hair shinier, and also smoothes over the roughened exterior of the hair shaft, making your hair more manageable. The results are expressive colors, glossy good looks, and increased volume. Every detail is enclosed with each box of Herbal Hair Color. This includes how to mix, how to prepare your hair before coloring, applying, process time, what to do after, and how to make your color last. Each box contains: hair color powder, instructions, and protective gloves. We recommend that you read our Natural Makeup Advice area and view the questions and how to's under Logona Henna Q&A. APPLICATION TIME: Between 10 min for fine or light hair to one hour or more for thicker or darker hair. NOTICE: Because of high chlorophyll content, this product should not be used on very gray or very blonde hair, since these light hair shades could receive an unattractive green nuance. In general, if you have blonde hair, do not allow the treatment to stay on longer than 11-15 minutes in your hair.
SUGGESTION: Go get your hair trimmed and collect some of the trimmings to bring home. Use those to do your test strands. You can do a couple tests at a time. The sample sizes are great for these tests. One test could be on one color, while the other test could be that same color with heat applied to it. Which do you prefer in the end? Which covered better? You can also do other things too like two step coverages.
COLORS TO CHOOSE: Golden Blonde, Sahara, Henna Red, Flame Red, Mahogony, Walnut Red/Brown, Chestnut Brown, Natural Brown, Brown Umber, Henna Black, Henna Natural.
Many users achieve unique and beautiful color results by mixing two or three hair colors together. Especially in the red and brown color ranges all imaginable nuances are possible. Mixtures of golden blonde and sahara produce many variations in the golden to reddish range.
Also common among many users is to mix a small amount of Henna Black into a base of Mahogany, Chestnut Brown, or Walnut Brown to darken the color result.
HOW TO USE SAMPLES: Sample sizes are enough to take a swatch of hair and check for color and coverage results before applying a full size box. Instructions are supplied, but please know you will only need a few tablespoons of water with a 1/4oz sample. The product should look like cake batter, not stiff or runny when blended with the powder. Apply product to a strip of hair, make sure it is covering grey hairs or area you want to test, and cover with plastic wrap. To check results when using heat, apply a moist hot rag over plastic wrap and keep area moist and hot for up to an hour. Application time can be less however. After application time if over, rinse your hair in warm water or use a gentle low sudsing shampoo. Allow to dry.
IF YOU DO NOT GET THE RESULT YOU WANT: Sometimes you will not see a color change if it is the first time you've used henna depending on the color you choose. Many who want to stay away from Reds who are covering grey hair have trouble. Normally a second coat is seen better after application. Customers who want coverage should consider mixing shades together such as 1 box of Natural Brown and 1/4oz of Black, or you could change the Natural Brown to Brown Umber or even Chestnut Brown. Henna blends with more red in them tend to cover better. Those with Blonde or lighter hair that use shades such as Henna Red, Mahogany, etc., will definitely have coverage in deep red brown hues.
HOW TO REMOVE HENNA: You may want to use the Color Plus to help strip color out of the hair if you do not like the desired look. You can also use mineral oil. We suggest trying Samples first, not over heating the hair during application, or choosing colors that are not as dark or red toned. It is easier to apply again with a deeper color than remove. See our We recommend that you read over the questions on using Henna for additional concerns.
